Kent Butler Summit

The Kent Butler 2020 Summit is designed to empower key decision-makers and key staff for cities and counties within the Hill Country aquifer systems to be champions that commit to take meaningful actions to advance land conservation.
— Kent Butler Summit Conveners

The Kent Butler Summit is meant to provide an opportunity for decision makers, stakeholders, elected officials and business owners to come together to discuss innovative approaches to planning for a bright, resilient future for the Central Texas Hill Country. Inspired by the visionary nature of Kent Butler, this Summit provides an opportunity for learning, networking, and sharing ideas in the Barton Springs section of the Edwards Aquifer and beyond.

This event has been sponsored by a planning committee that includes the Hill Country Alliance, the City of Austin Watershed Protection and Austin Water departments, and the Barton Springs-Edwards Aquifer Conservation District. Kimberly facilitated the development of the Summit and the meetings with 52 elected officials and key decision-makers in the Texas Hill Country.

Together, we designed a county-level engagement process focused specifically on developing a joint land conservation resolution.
